This fan is disassembled so that you can produce an unusual Sumi-painting or calligraphy artwork on the sized xuan paper decorated with gold speckles. The handle is made of dark wood and hand carved with a traditional Oriental flower pattern. Note: the carving pattern can vary between different Chinese traditional themes

    We realized that most Asian hand fans that are for purchase in Western countries already come with a painting or calligraphy on it but there were few fans to be found allowing artist to create their own piece of art on them. This is a pity since such a hand fan is a beautiful, easy to wrap and easy to carry decorative item where the art unfolds after you unpack the fan from its gift box. The usage is pretty - after the ink has dried up, you glue the ends of the xuan paper to the shaft and can either use the fan as a decorative item or give it so someone special in its gift box of blue brocade. Therefore, this is a first item in our range of Chinese art DIY products which we are going to introduce in our store.
